Culver City is the home of Sony Studios and dozen of galleries, design and architecture firms, wine bars and upscale eateries.
Points of interests:
1. Culver City Arts District - one of the highest concentrations of fine galleries in So CA with over 20 galleries.
2. The Culver Hotel - was once owned by John Wayne. The Historic Hollywood Properties rescued it from real estate speculators who allowed it to deteriorate. It was restored to its original glory in the 1990's.
3. Helms Bakery - Paul Helms opened a bakery on this site in March 1931. The bakery closed in August 1969. Today the Helms Bulding houses "The Helms Furniture District", The Jazz Bakery, and Gascon Theatre
4. Sony Studios - the original home of MGM Studios (1924-1986). Sony purchased the lot in 1990. Daily tours available.
5. Culver City Homes - are highly desirable because of its school systems and being centrally located on the West Side of downtown Los Angeles and the ocean.

Marina del Rey is southeast of Venice and four miles north of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The beach itself is within the City of Los Angeles.
